San Blas Islands

Friday and Saturday Dec 6th and 7th 2013 San Blas Islands

Typical Morning Coffee.... Dan, AJ, James Tucker and Coleen Tucker (left to right)

We woke up had coffee then headed to the boat for breakfast. We shared stories of our adventures the night before.  Some people got rained on while others had their bed collapse!  We were all quite relieved to be on the boat.  We hung around for awhile waiting for immigration to come aboard then we headed off.
Our bunks, little warm sometimes.  Every bed was taken as there were 28 people on board.

Dolphins that swam and played along the boat for a while.

Mega yacht with all the toys... ironically named "Just Enough"

We dropped anchor just off a group of 7 uninhabited islands. We will stay here for all of Friday and Saturday.

Crows nest!

We enjoyed snorkeling on the nearby reef and a beach BBQ on friday night.
On Saturday night we had lobster and fresh fish!

Sunday Dec 8, 2013
We set sail at 5am for Cartegena, Columbia.  A 32 hour journey.
Trevor helping hoist the sails.
Captain Ludwig and crew member Nicole
Seas were incredibly rough.  3-4meter high waves.  Fortunately, Kyle and Trevor did not get sea sick!  Many people ended up puking over the side.
Some smiles despite not always feeling the best.

A short video of the seas. It was pretty cool.  Not all the sails were up at this point.

Monday Dec 9th, 2013.
Seas calmed down a little and we managed to get some sleep.  On Monday morning we were all relived to see land again!
First view of South America!

We are off to get our immigration stamps this afternoon.  Tomorrow we will unload the bikes and get all the custom papers sorted.

  1. And wash the salt off the bikes!
Great video clip of some nice open water, and you did not get seasick. Well done!
